OK - for the past 2 days I've been searching around the corporate intranet and the network folder structure.
Certain people have been away so there's no access to Remedy, or any other analytical systems, because those who approve them are away (possibly until next week). On the amusingly stupid side... this must be one of the few jobs I have seen where, in certain sections, 98.01% is an unacceptable pass rate. WTF?!? This goes to show you how stupid stats are in ANY job. 98.91% unacceptable? That sort of score gets one into high level Actuarial/Medical studies at University, and gets CEOs mega-millions in bonuses. More-Than-Stupid expectations (and somewhat insulting) if you ask me. Still, not MY personal worry :) After all, I don't work with/for stats (well, never by choice) :)
Just as a by-the-by, I worked for an Agency last week (whom shall remain nameless, due to reasons of professionalism and a desire to protect those obviously 'just learning the business' - because those who have been in the business for a while wouldn't be so slip-shod). I was contracted for 3 days work, they sent me a misspelt contract for 2 days work, and the job was only for one days work. They failed to call me back several times when they arranged that they would, were not at a face-to-face meeting that they arranged (obviously I wasn't important enough to be there), that they only pay fortnightly (without any notice of same), didn't send 3 of their required pieces of paperwork for my signature to ensure that I would be paid *next* Friday, and overall have been more painful to deal with than 8 root-canals without anaesthetic. Hopefully it's just been a bad fortnight for them. Still, I expected more from a company of their calibre of office decore. Suffice to say that they are now running about trying to correct their mistakes before their pay-period deadline... this afternoon.
This evening I am looking forward to watching Batman Begins (on the large-ish home-screen) as a lead-up to seeing The Dark Knight in Gold Class tomorrow night at Greater Union. I hear that there will be several Super Heroes in attendance at the screening... which incarnations I ask you? I shall have to take photos of them ;) Not to mention the Cardinal Rule of attending Pellfire this Friday night, which is going to be a stirring experience. Having people worshipping at altars of their own making will be a more-than-worthwhile experience in itself ;)
Apparently next week I am out-and-about actually doing the work that I've been contracted to do (they took me on a week early to ensure that they had me ;) kinda nice to know that ;)
Anyway - back to the grind...
