The Saga of The Dryer... (or: Hail Electrolux! We, who are about to have no dry clothes, salute you!)

So, you see, as you know, the dryer stopped working.
Well technically speaking it can still kind of work, just that the rotating drum has stopped spinning in one place. Rather, it thumps and bangs and makes a god-awful racket because the rotation-pin (and bracket) have both snapped off. In essence making the dyer somewhat... useless. Oh it can spin, in an eliptical palsied manner, also increasing the chance of sparking and igniting... something I am not wanting to happen. The technician was a lovely fellow who had a look, and a listen, and then a tinker and then apologised most profusely for not having a replacement machine in his toolbox (seriously, he had a sense of humour, which I am sure you need in that line of work). So... after waiting over a-week-and-a-half for a service call, the machine now needs to be replaced. After a call to Electrolux (the company which owns the machine/warranty/etc... the timeline seems to be as follows: 48 hours to process paperwork (approx...), followed by a call to arrange the delivery of the new machine. Now, depending on the availability of the machine, and the delivery schedule, they can't tell me when the new machine would be available (although it looks like Friday/Saturday at the earliest).

Until then, it looks like it's the laundromat down the street... grr...
Dear Electrolux Warranty... can I claim laundromat costs against you?
Am I expecting too much to expect that a warranty job should take less time?
