Optus... Wireless broadband... Activations... WTF?

Purchased in April... Card arrives end of April...

Average wait time to get card activated is 20+mins - and is closed after
work, and on weekend, thus trying every three (work) days to get card
activated = activation today! ( 3. Months. Later.)

HOW was this mircale of technology (finally) achieved?

Sydney voice-prompt menu to DSL Direct queue in Mumbai(?) 9because the
voice-prompt doesn't understand the word 'Yes' - which is SO ironic I can't
write it with a straight face). Wait in Mumbai(?) queue for 25 mins so I can
talk to an inexperienced and very heavily accented individual who could not
understand simple details like the number '6' or the letter 'G', and whose
pet expression is (for any problem or further delay) "I am sorry for that"
yet can do nothing to expediate the process or solve the problem. Transfer
to another (45min) queue to speak to someone in Sydney (Salesforce?) who
then transfers me to another Customer Service queue in Mumbai(?), who cannot
find any details on their screens and so transfer me (with associated 15
minute wait) to Lee(sp?) in Sydney (Salesforce again?) who, in 10 minutes,
did what no-one else could do in 85 minutes - find my account number. Yes
folks. All that to find my account number because no-one had ever given it
to me. Then, bnecause Lee(?) was not in the right area, and could not access
the requisite details, another transfer to another (5 minute) queue and
finally speaking to the world's most helpful Customer Service person (David)
in Sydney (again in Salesforce perhaps?) who actually can do his job and
took care of everything required in another 10 minutes.

Thus endeth the wait and hopefully soon the headache will also end.

Optus is being billed for my time.
