Just a quick zip in and out...

Weekend was pretty damned good :)

Friday was Shallow Nation. Apart from a few fumbles (squarely pointed at the
venue) the evening was pretty good :) Music and people made for a very
different feel to Die maschine, and that just went to prove that it isn't
'just another Tailors Club'. Headed off home, after closing, with the Barbs,
Abby and Wynter - had a heap of good long chats with them both too :) - 3
words "I thought so" ;)

Saturday was a day of slothing about, and getting ready for The Under The
Blue Moon Festival Launch. It was good also to see Gill, Elliot and Alex out
there. Nice to meet some of the UTBM organisers (officially) too. Also, was
happy to scramble up to the Zanzibar rooftop and say happy birthday to
Jules. This means that I missed most of Toydeath... But sometimes one makes
a choice to do something and it's the right choice :)

Saturday night back to The Fortress for chats and making plans.

Sunday until midday was more chats and plan-making. Then there was sleep.
This meant that we missed heading into Local Legends #1. In hindsight, that
was a good thing, because we had little fundage. However, we did go into the
FREE Sunday Mystery Theatre movie night at The Forest Lodge Hotel, and saw
one of my all time favourite silent films: "The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari".
Then home, an abundance of "The Man With The Golden Gun", and thence to
sleep...

This is now my last week of contract here at Australia Post (it finished 2
weeks early because the job/s I had here have either been farmed out to
full-timers (something to do with an edict from Melbourne about contractors
not going outside the CBD or something...) or devolved to Head Office (read:
Melbourne). Still, whilst there have been some good parts and parts of the
rollout procedure were a lot of fun, the bulk of the job has been
seat-warming, really. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's not so good as
your brain starts rusting. Ahh if there were only vacancies back at Usyd...
Still, 10 applications later (over the past 4 days) and we'll see what
contracts are available - hopefully starting next Tuesday.

So, tonight... I think it's a little more 'homework' and then an early start
tomorrow. We'll see if we can get an interview out of one of these
applciations. ;)
