There was a general scramble on Friday to get some rest before the frivolities of the (next) evening. The nice thing was a nice quiet-ish Friday. I must admit that I like working longer hours Monday to Thursday so that I have a 4-5 hour day on Friday, and still make up my 40 hours. Although I MUST admit that I can see this contract coming to an end in the near future, as I'm really not doing much. Last week I imaged and checked 25 PCs. No really. That's all. The process takes 2 hours per PC (doing 6 at a time) and then leaving them for about 4 hours for the SMS Server to push down the application packages. Yup - that was it. I WAS going to be going around the state to actually install them, but change of mind from Head-Office in Melbourne means that contractors don't get to do that part of the project (did I mention that that was specifically why I was hired?) Anyway... That's about it for what I did last week. So then it was a Friday afternoon of really doing nothing but having quick tool by Cabinet Du Curiosities to pick up my copy of Rue Morgue Magazine (yay), a quick pop into Gallery Serpentine to have a chat with "agent_beckles", and then off home. Chats with Donna about her newly minted longer-term plans, and with Kate off in Newcastle for the weekend meant that it was a simple and quiet end to the week. Later in the evening, an arriving Barbara and a home-cooked meal (how awesome is that?!) and just relaxing until it became time to no longer relax, but become unconcious.
Saturday was a day of slothful starts. Cleaning the spa (in the rain I might add), as it needed an emptying and a cleanout. Then, off into the city to watch Barbara spend her S(A)X voucher and grab bits and bobs for her Hellfire Afloat costume. This means that we got home, had time to grab a small snack, get changed and then hightail it into Star City Casino (rugged up of course, otherwise we wouldn't have been let in) to meet up with Cerys and her boy for a quick drink before wending down to the boat. Well, exiting the Casino, we found the wharf, jam-packed I tells you, with all manner of nautical (and naughty-cal) persons. We found Good Cap'n MayMay, with pistol (pew! pew! pew!), was REALLY happy to see Mel out for the evening, and being able to attend. Caught up with Jon and Angus and caught the second of the 2 shows in the ecvening. Well, I wanted to see Suzie Q, but as soon as the word got around that the show was about to start, there was a stampede to get downstairs, so we kinda missed out on that one. Of course by this time Barbs had changed from the PVC hotpants and chest-floor split coat, to her chain-mail bikini... Of course the satisfying thing was seeing people watch her walk by with the accompanying jaw-dropping and compliments on her costume and how she looked (hopefully pics will be put up soon) :). The overall cruise was great, and Both Craig & Jackie looked awfully excited (how British does THAT sound) and extremely happy, which was the whole idea after all. The second show, a bondage extravaganza by Mark & Lani (from DV8 House) had everyone spellbound (NPI) and a few people quite hot and bothered over by the speaker stacks. After that hot and heavy show had finished, Craig and Jackie finally got to just relax into the rest of the cruise. "There are No Licensing Police out here!" went the catch-cry, and so the evening degenerated into a lot more fun. I was very fortunate to work Mel over on the Horse and A-Frame, for a good half hour (and after that I SO do not believe her when she says that she is out of practice :)). All too soon, the cruise ended, happy smiling people left the boat. Some went off to Ascension at the midnight drop-off (which we "missed" - oops! ;)) and then at the end of the cruise, others went off to the 'after-party' at Manacle, which was also our intent (because it was too late to get home, changed and then back to The Slox before Ascension closed at 3am, the cruise finished at 2am) - after
dropping things at home - but I should ALWAYS remember that once you get home, you don't want to go out again. So with Cerys and co in tow, we just lounged about the house until the wee early hours of the morning.
Sunday was simply a nicely trashy Sunday. Then with the departure of one set of peoples and thence the arrival of the couple (Gill and Non-Blogging(?)-Elliot, whom I will now be referring to as Gilliot (Oh! You tabloid newspapers and your renaming of couples! What havoc you cause!). So, with good company, a very interesting trip to the bottle shop for Barbs, and an overall feeling of repleatness, Sunday was just a rather lovely day/evening of Cable, and lounging, clearing out the PVR and finally getting to bed about midnight.
Now to dash off and buy a sandwich for lunch... Yes... Back to healthy I say.
