The Sydney Film Festival

This is something that I tend to try to go to each year - primarily because there's a wealth of filmic delights showing. The unfortunate thing, this year, is that I have a number of things on (including work, of course [and this year I have filming on the weekends, as well]) which is interfering in me seeing all the films that I want to see. Getting a festival Pass is something that means you can check out as many films as you possibly can, throughout the length of the Festival. However, with the foreshortening of the Festival length this year by half a week, there is a much shorter time-span in which to clash all the highlights of the Festival. That means that when the evening sessions are on (and you get a clash) you can't see the repeat sessions because they are on at a stupid timeslot like 10am the following (weekday) morning. This is somethign I 'comment' about on their website eveny year, but so far nothing is done. Still, at least this year I'll catch the Neil Gaiman authored Coraline (in 3D) along with a few other gems. (...er that presupposes that I will have been paid by then, as I have JUST been told that our pays are all switching to every 2nd Saturday morning, when they go through on a Friday afternoon).
